Abstract

Spin-sensitive bleaching and monopolar spin orientation were analyzed in quantum wells (QW). It was shown that the absorption of circularly polarized radiation saturates at lower intensities due to monopolar spin orientation in the first heavy-hole subband. It was observed that spin-sensitive bleaching is also expected for intersubband transitions in n-type QW.
