A friction meter for determining the coefficient of kinetic friction of fabrics

Abstract

A friction met er is described, and its application to t he evaluation of the smoothness of a wide vari ety of fa brics is discussed. The ruggedness, sensit ivit.y, and ease of operation of the instrumen t make it sui table for the routine testing of fabrics, the evaluation of fini shing agents, and the control of fin ishing processes.
