Nurses?? Job Satisfaction

Abstract

Subjected 33 items originally developed to measure 3 dimensions (safety, social, psychological) of nurses' job satisfaction to checks designed to determine the number of dimensions being measured and the reliability and validity of the measures of these dimensions. 190 nurses served as Ss. Although the hypothesis of only 3 dimensions was not supported, the 8 interpretable factors (satisfaction with extrinsic rewards, scheduling, family/work balance, co-workers, interaction, professional opportunities, praise/recognition, control/responsibility) that did emerge could be placed within these 3 dimensions. Internal consistency and test–retest reliabilities are reported, as well as checks for criterion-related and construct validity. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
