The paper presents a retrospection of educational robotics and supporting technologies via the analysis of the evolution of a robotic competition, its rules and designs of participating robots. Corresponding evolution of tools for technical education is discussed in a context of digital fabrication and educational robotics focused on schoolchildren of 6 to 18 years old. Blended learning development is suggested to increase technical literacy among larger groups of children.
