Abstract

The book discusses current problems of modern radiobiology related to the action of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation on living organisms. Long-term studies of aftermath effects caused by radionuclide pollution after the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant had been analyzed, including the consequences of the russian occupation of the exclusion zone in 2022. The effects of the possible destruction of nuclear power plants in Ukraine and the threat of using nuclear weapons in light of russia's aggression against Ukraine are discussed. Prospects and tasks of the further research in the field are considered. The book is intended for a wide range of specialists in radiobiology, radioecology, medical radiology and radiotherapy, university teachers, graduate students and students.
