Altmetrics in Altmetric platform: an interview with Stacy Konkiel

Abstract

Through the interview granted by the researcher and director of research relations at Digital Science, Stacy Konkiel, company in charge of the platform Altmetric, the emergent area of altmetrics is discussed as well as the new paths for research impact assessment of Social Web, the changes in the systems of scientific information mediation, the public engagement with science and technical issues on the use and limitations of the Altmetric platform. This interview is a follow-up of the visit made by the authors to the Altmetric facilities and the discussions held during meeting of the Scientific Communication Research Group of the University of Brasilia (UnB), which took place during the University Week.
