Abstract

Facial asymmetry provides important information for detecting deception. The present study aims at deciphering deception in facial expression unique to Indian culture and to detect differences between parameters of expression of 'felt' emotion and 'deceived' expression. Facial expressions are analysed based on Facial Action Coding System. Results reveal that participants deamplify happiness whereas they neutralize and mask negative emotions.
