Abstract

The fact that the Quran is the basis of Islamic civilization and culture prompted the Russian orientalist to conduct research in the framework of the Quran. Studies of Soviet period Russian orientalists were dealt with the policy and ideology and “being scientific” served to the continuation of modern exploitation through state. The obvious example of this situation can be seen in the claims of Klimovich, a Soviet period Russian scholar. Dedicating most of his life to the Quranic studies, Klimovich naturally made use of the orientalist tradition up to his time and was mostly influenced from the views of his predecessors. Particularly, his views were based mostly upon those of Western and Tsarist Russian Orientalists. When considering such points as his negative and prejudiced approach to the Quran, that he, from the beginning, decided to condemn Islam, that putting objectivity aside, he took an.
