Abstract

Distributed file system had become a well known type of file system which suits requirement of users. AFS and HDFS are two popular distributed file systems. Andrew file system is distributed file system which had been used for location independent data storage. Hadoop distributed file system is an available as part of Hadoop package that is used for Big Data analysis. This paper makes the comparison of both file system with respect to feature, architecture and performance in depth. The paper explorers design concepts, authentication, inter process communication and access mechanism.
