Abstract

We present the design and analysis of augmentation channels to increase the efficiency of shrouded marine current turbines in conditions of low intensity flows. These turbines are part of a prototype of a floating device composed of wind and marine current generators for generating renewable energy. It intends to exploit renewable energy resources in an integrated manner using wind and current turbines in offshore plants optimizing the economic investment. © 2014 E. García et al.
