Abstract

In order to select conditions for obtaining "liquid" polydienes with terminal reactive halide atoms, kinetic parameters of polymerization of buta-1,3-diene were determined in various solvents, polymerization being initiated with 4,4′-azo-bis-(1-bromo-4-cyan-n-pentane) and p-(chloromethyl)benzoyl peroxide. When using p-(chloromethyl)benzoyl peroxide deviations were observed in kinetics of polymerization from the ideal, which are due to the effect of solvent on polymerization. © 1977.
