Dinômica morfosedimentar associada á incidência de sistemas frontais em duas praias do litoral Paranaense

Abstract

The goal of this work is to contribute to the understanding of the coastal dynamics and to offer some scientifc elements for the planning and management for the use and occupation of some sections of the coastal zone of the State of Paraná. To do that, the characterization of the morphology and dynamics of two sandy beaches was performed, correlating them with the incidence of frontal meteorological systems acting on the area. The increase of the wave action, which results from the passage of some frontal systems, seems to be the largest regulator of the coastal dynamics of these Southern Brazilian beaches, The effects of such phenomena are a signifcant problem when affecting populated areas of the coasts of Paraná. The characterization of the beaches was accomplished through twelve monthly leveling surveys on two beaches, covering more than a year of samplings, only lacking a few months when the samplings where not feasible due to operational problems. These profles were obtained for both aerial and submerged part of the beaches, using for the latter a new developed methodology that is presented in this dissertation in full article form. With the aid of the Bulletins of Frontals Systems and Bulletins of Notorious Events - Cases of Marine Agitation of Great Impact in South America, available at the web page of the System of Waves Forecast - INPE/CPTEC, it was possible to monitor the incidence and frequency of these events. Based in the obtained results, it was possible to present some suggestions and recommendations for further works in this feld, which, in the near future, could minimize the current problems of the interaction between coastal dynamics and human occupation of the coastal zone, problems that have become common in the coast of the State of Paraná.
