Las traducciones rioplatenses de Le deuxième sexe de Simone de Beauvoir: Marcas de época en torno a la enunciación de identidades generizadas

Abstract

This paper presents the conclusion from an interdisciplinary work devoted to analyzing how Simone de Beauvoir's works -especially Le deuxième sexe- have been translated in Rio de la Plata. Our work deals with the problem of the influence of contexts, not only in the translation, but also in the conceptual-theoretical reception of her work. Particularly, we shall try to give an account of this influence by looking at signs of the times in the enunciation of gendered identities. We shall study the use of expression "invertida" (invert[ed]), in their literal translation from French, as well as their transformations in the target language. Furthermore, we shall recognize the categorical relevance of these lexical fluctuations in the reception of de Beauvoir?s thought, taking into consideration, especially, the local productions by female translator-writers. Taking a cue from Translatology and Philosophy, our work examines the connection between ideology, language and translation from a gender standpoint.
