Abstract

As global communication expands throughout the world, so does the need for a global language. In many parts of the world that language that has been established as a link language is English. In most countries around the globe the English language can be found in some form or another. It is widely believed that "English is truly the world language." (Stevenson) English seems to be emerging, as a global language; this is seconded by the fact that a lot of research is conducted worldwide to help learners in their efforts to acquire this global language. The present research is based on experience and experiment in the field of teaching literature and training students in language development skills. The use of literature as a popular technique for teaching both Basic language skills, for example reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and language areas, to expose and enrich vocabulary, to understand grammar and pronunciation, is truly successful. Literature and the teaching of language skills, benefits of different genres of literature to language teaching and some problem encountered by language teaching within the area of teaching language trough literature genres of literature example for poetry, short fiction, drama and novel. Communicative Language Teaching is best considered an approach rather than a method. Thus although a reasonable degree of theoretical consistency can be discerned at the levels of language and learning theory, at the levels of design and procedure there is much greater room for individual interpretation and variation than most methods permit. It could be that one version among the various proposals for syllabus models, exercise types, and classroom activities may gain wider approval in the future, giving Communicative Language Teaching a status similar to other teaching methods. On the other hand, divergent interpretations might lead to homogeneous subgroups. 1. Understand Communication Skills as part of social and academic interaction. 2. Write and present information effectively, logically and persuasively 3. Develop personality traits as part of an effective communicator. To facilitate effective language planning and development, a schedule has been proposed, outlining focuses for English Language Education curriculum.
