Abstract

An empirical relation relating specific growth rate in steady-stale systems to nutrient status with respect to more than one nutrient simultaneously is proposed. Some ecological implications of the model are discussed, in particular with respect to the concept of luxury consumption and Liebig's law of minimum. © 1973 American Society of Zoologists.
