Abstract

Introduction: Cases of obesity in females (15.55%) in Ponorogo Regency are much higher than thosed in males (10.72%) Objective: This study was conducted to analyze the factors that influence the occurrence of obesity in adolescent girls included history of obesity in parents and physical activity Method: Type of research is analytic observational research with a case-control study design conducted during May-August 2021. The sample size was calculated using the case-control sample size formula with a ratio of 1: 1. This result was 27 case samples and 27 control samples. The sampling method uses simple random sampling. Result: The results showed that the factors that influence the occurrence of obesity in adolescent girls are history of obesity in parents and physical activity. The OR value (95% CI) on parental obesity history was 15.29 (1.79-130.59) and the OR value (95% CI) on physical activity was 5.64 (1.75-18.14). Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is a history of obesity in parents and physical activity are risk factors for obesity in adolescent girls.
