Abstract

A grand unified theory (GUT) scenario without the desert is presented. It has GUT fields of masses of the order of a TeV. This scenario was based on an extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) to a five-dimensional theory with the extra dimension compactified as in the Randall-Sundrum model. It is also shown that proton decay operators are suppressed by the high scale MGUT10 to approximately 1016 GeV.
