Abstract

Kata kunci: tindak tutur, imperatif, cerita pendek ABSTRACT This article will describe the imperative politeness in a collection of short stories by Eka Kurniawan. The depiction of characters in a literary work can be contained in the form of dialogue between characters, each character has their own speech acts from the speaker and the speech partner. This short story published by Eka Kurniawan is a short story that discusses various problems of human life in love, education, family, government, and so on. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method to describe and answer the problems of a phenomenon or event that is currently happening. In this descriptive study trying to describe an event and events that became the center of attention. Based on the results of the research, it can be found in the collection of short stories entitled Scribbles on the Toilet by Eka Kurniawan very few conversations have imperative politeness speech acts, only imperative declarative and imperative interrogative speech acts are found.
