With the increasing population of cities, buildings such as mosques, shopping centers, theatres and auditoriums, the importance of safe evacuation time against emergency situations such as fires, earthquakes, social events and so on, is increasing. Building evacuation analyses should be included in the early process during the design of the assembly buildings where many people’s life safety issues have arose. Mosque buildings where one of the most outstanding architectural structures for assembly in Turkey are discussed in this study. Within the scope of the study, the comparison of the emergency evacuation results based on simulation and the fire safety calculations is completed. Simulation study is compared with the current regulation which has approved for the recently built mosque located in the Mevlana Avenue Ankara-Turkey which is an example of modern replica Ottoman classical period type mosques which are widely built in Turkey. Considering international safe evacuation time, the users of the one- or two-story assembly buildings should be able to evacuate the building within 2.5 (150sn) minutes in case of emergency. When this information is taken as a reference, it is determined that the building, which is considered as adequate according to the current regulation, is insufficient compared to the simulation studyion.
