The demand for rapid and accurate information regarding the status of construction projects is rising in the construction sector. Due to frequent change, it is difficult to collect the information needed for monitoring the progress of the construction project. In most construction project sites, data acquisition relies on recording information manually on paper, the use of photographs and documents which cause space and time constraints. This study proposes 4D BIM progress monitoring using aerial Drone photos and iPhone LiDAR processed into point clouds. LiDAR-based point cloud data from the iPhone is capable of General Services Administration (GSA) requirements for architectural design projects with an average dimensional error of 0.011m. The latest observation shows that delay occurs in the projects within 2.22%, this information enable project managers to assess progress and manage the project comprehensively. Four-dimensional visualization facilitates project managers in making rapid decisions based on real-time information, thereby reducing work time and cost overruns.
