Abstract

Accurate diagnosis, prompt treatment, identification, and information recording of emergency patients at the scene of the accident are directly related to the patient’s life. Dr. Loupe is a paramedic medical device designed to save the patient’s life through three concept keywords: Confidence, Unification, and Synchronization. Firstly, confidence stands for the reliable diagnosis through iris recognition and image analysis. Dr. Loupe recognizes patient’s iris and displays past medical history and information of the patient to give confidence to paramedics. Secondly, unification is a keyword for integrating diverse tools used in emergency procedures. The device combines a flashlight, a medical penlight to check pupils, and a respiratory rate sensor together. Lastly, as an IoT device, Dr. Loupe automatically stores diagnostic records and interoperates with public healthcare databases. It provides the information of the patient to the medical teams when handing over the patient to the hospital. This is the concept of Synchronization.
