Abstract

We have successfully synthesized the thienoselenadiazole unit through the condensation reaction between thiophene diamine and SeO2 and applied the thienoselenadiazole unit for D-A-conjugated polymers. The thienoselenadiazole- based polymers, PBDTDTTSe and PDTSDTTSe, exhibit good solubility in common organic solvents, good thermal stability and deep HOMO levels. The solar cells based on thienoselenadiazole-containing polymers gave high Voc. Further improving of the light-absorption properties of the thienoselenadiazole- containing polymers to achieve high Jsc and high PCEs is currently underway. © 2012 The Society of Polymer Science, Japan (SPSJ) All rights reserved.
