Abstract

Nowadays there is an increase in the number of people, including middle and elderly ages, who are interested in sport games. This is especially those who expect to maintain their active life. However a concern is whether aging inherently causes structural capacity and functional alteration in the human body. One assumption is aging probably make sport seniors more prone to certain types of injuries. Understanding the anatomical and functional change among seniors can make treatment and prevention of injury more effective. The most common injuries in senior athletes are chronic overuse injuries that can reduce the flexibility and overall physical performance. Therefore, early diagnostics, conservative treatment, avoidance prolong immobilization and compensatory training programs will minimize disuse-associated loss of general fitness during treatment periods.
