Abstract

The Le Fort I osteotomy is a well-known and described orthognathic surgical technique for treating facial anomalies. This osteotomy is versatile enough to apply many different modifications regarding osteotomy designs and segmentations. This chapter describes maxillary osteotomies to correct skeletal malocclusions, provide support to soft tissues, and enhance the aesthetic results of the middle third of the face. Several variations on the classic osteotomy are presented, along with potential complications.
