Abstract

An electrically powered skateboard including two-foot pedals for braking and acceleration is driven by a geared motor. The power drawn from the motor is supplied to the motor by mean of a potentiometer which is controlled by mean of the pedal and motor speed controller. The skateboard is steered by employing a cam operated steering mechanism. The cam is attached to the base plate which is directly attached to the skateboard. The cam also contained inside the hanger which has cam following profile carved into it. The relative motion between the cam and the following profile of the hanger enables the steering of the skateboard.
