Abstract

Solar energy is one of the prominent renewable energy resources compared to other renewable energy resources. Apart from energy generation solar crop drying is one of the important applications of solar energy. The main objective of the paper is to develop a smart solar tunnel dryer which has higher efficiency than the traditional drying system. The various steps involved in the design and fabrication of solar dryer system is presented. The proposed design isincorporated with sensible heat storage materials and embedded system to increase efficiency. The proposed model is tested under different system conditions over a day. The important metric which decides the efficiency of the drier which give high efficiency and reduces the time taken for drying. Hence, the results prove that the proposed model consumes less time.
