Abstract

The benign prostatic hypertrophy, prostatic cancer and acute benign prostatitis are important and prevalent prostatic diseases. All of them are characterized by symptoms of urinary emptying and retention. These disorders are the most frequent prostatic pathologies that may occur in the mature man. They may affect the longevity and the health related quality of life. In this article the diagnosis and management of these disorders have been analyzed. © Copyright Moreira Jr. Editora.
