Abstract

Climatology, therefore, should have its "raison d'etre' as one of the physical geographies, or geography itself. The author illustrates such a control system by introducing three concrete examples of climatological studies. One of them is "urban climatology' as described by Terjung. The other is manifested in "disaster climatology,' one example of which is drought climate recorded in annual tree-rings. "Studies on climatic resources' can be considered one of the geographical climatologies, because they rely on the climatological ideas in the traditional methods of natural-energy utilization. -from English summary
