Abstract

The objective of this study was to isolate and identify bacteria foundin natural association with adults of Musca domestica.In this studyadults of Musca dometica were collected from four sites in Sulamanicity,Kudistan,Iraq to isolate and identify bacteria on the externalsurface of house flies . Bacteria from fly samples isolated usingthe conventional isolation technique were E.coli , Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus albus , Staphylococcus aureus , Salmonella sp. andKlebsiella sp. The results of current study confirm that the housefliesare much more than nuisance and they pose potentially serious healthrisks. Consequently, the population of houseflies has to be controlled.
