Taking into account that most of the studies involving consumer awareness tends to try to explain it as an end in itself or as something devoid of context or understood as a more practical "fashion" without concern lastreá it into a structure wider than the covers. Faced with these statements is that it provided an opportunity to compile the test in order to discuss the theme of responsible consumption based on issues involving the understanding of consumption as a social fact. In addition, it seeks to raise some reflections, critical slant on the use of the subject consumer awareness in the context of the consumer society. For this, the test was arranged as follows. In addition to this introductory section, it was decided to begin the discussion with some notes on the concept of consumption, to then focus on the discussion of contemporary consumer society. Then, the text discusses the topic conscious consumer. The text ends with some concluding remarks focused on presenting reflective comments, but inconclusive on what was explained as well as point out some recommendations for the debate still alive and fruitful both in academia and in the business sector.
