FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI DUKUNGAN KELUARGA TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN ANAK AKIBAT HOSPITALISASI PADA USIA PRASEKOLAH DI RSU ADVENT MEDAN TAHUN 2019

Abstract

Background: Family support is assistance provided by families to family members in need when facing problems, while anxiety is a reaction that occurs in pre-school children, especially physical signs such as muscle tension, increased blood pressure, restlessness, covering of faces and a strong voice. , intellectual such as low attention to something, time disorientation, social and emotional such as withdrawal, depression, crying and anger. Objective: The level of anxiety in children when hospitalized is around 8.3-27%, where the anxiety due to separation experienced by children for preschool is 4%, and anxiety of children at preschool age who are sick and have to be hospitalized, is one form of mental disorder which means the disturbance of meeting the child's emotional needs is adequate. Methods: The design of this study was analytic using a cross sectional approach. Sampling using convenience sampling technique totaling 30 respondents who are families and pediatric patients at RSU Advent Medan. The data collection process was carried out on filling out the questionnaire using the interview method. The test used by researchers is the chi-square test. Results: Based on the results of the chi square test, the p value (fisher) was <0.05 (p = 0.005). From the results of the study, it is known that out of 3 children who experience anxiety 100% there is no support from their family, whereas 24 children do not experience anxiety as much as 88.8% get support from family, not only on physical problems, but also psychological problems. Conclusion: It is expected that hospital institutions can provide information to families on the importance of family support for children who are undergoing hospitalization to reduce children's anxiety levels.
