Implementación de la telemedicina desde la perspectiva de los profesionales clínicos de un hospital en Pedro Juan Caballero-Paraguay, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Telemedicine is the union of technology and medicine put at the service of the individual. Objective: to analyze the implementation of telemedicine from the perspective of clinical professionals at a hospital in Pedro Juan Caballero-Paraguay, 2023. Methodology: it was under a qualitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design. 10 in-depth interviews were conducted with clinicians from a hospital located in Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay. The inclusion criteria were: being an active doctor and being on guard at the time of data collection plus voluntary participation. The instrument used was a guide of 10 questions, for convenience in 2023. Results: the majority indicate that telemedicine is a useful, reliable and innovative tool for the care of patients who are limited to going to a hospital, the sector The private sector is where telemedicine is most frequently implemented, most of whom are unaware of or do not have strategies to guarantee the equitable availability of telemedicine services for different segments of the population and refer to technological challenges that could affect the effectiveness of telemedicine. Conclusion: A variety of perceptions are revealed regarding the implementation of telemedicine in the healthcare setting. This emerges as a valuable tool in Paraguay and must be implemented gradually to guarantee its effective and equitable implementation throughout the country.
