Abstract

AbstractUncertainty is a key concept in science, however it is a concept that students find difficult to grasp and may represent a barrier to understanding. This article introduces research currently in progress to investigate students’ and academics’ conceptions of uncertainty in teaching and learning about climate change science. Uncertainty is discussed in the context of climate change, followed by an introduction to the theoretical frameworks being used to investigate the concept in educational contexts. Possible future research methods and directions are then also introduced.
