Abstract

In this study, the filtered-velocity feedback control (FVF) is proposed to stabilized control system with non collocated sensor/actuator configuration. This method is applied to actively control a clamped beam with a sensor/moment pair actuator. Since the sensor/moment pair actuator is a non-collocated configuration, the control system leads to structural instability in high frequencies when using the direct velocity feedback control. An FVF controller with the non-collocated sensor/moment pair is numerically implemented and verified the performance of the controller. Due to the roll-off property of the FVF controller, the structural instability problem can be overcome in the high frequencies. Using presented FVF controller, the control system can be obtained to be stable at a large gain margin.
