Abstract

VIPER is a 32 bit microprocessor, designed for those safety- or security-critical systems which must not only be correct but must also be certified correct. Examples are aircraft flight control systems, railway signalling, process control in the chemical and nuclear industries, and communication networks used for electronic funds transfer. The author describes 'VIPER' architecture, programming methods and projects future developments.
