Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: The objective of this review is to evaluate the effectiveness of virtual patient simulation as an educational intervention versus traditional learning, other types of e-Learning interventions and other forms of virtual patient simulation interventions for delivering pre-registration and post-registration healthcare professional education. We will primarily assess the impact of these interventions on learners' knowledge, skills and attitudes. Our secondary objective is to assess the cost-effectiveness of these interventions.
