Abstract

Case examination of the skin is the first and foremost tool in the detection of skin cancer. Early diagnosis of malignant melanoma is possible with appreciation of certain color changes, surface changes, and border changes in pigmented lesions. Emphasis is placed upon these criteria for diagnosis and other associated phenomena that may lead to suspicion of early malignant melanoma. Copyright © 1976 American Cancer Society
