Abstract

This paper discussed how Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria used ICTs as a tool for transnational collaboration. The issue of globalization and collaboration has implication for Nigeria as a country that is yet to provide qualitative education to its youths. The above neglect has been partly responsible for the recurrent insurgence among the youth in Nigeria especially Northern part (Boko-Haram) and in the South-South geopolitical zone (Niger Delta). As a result of frustration due to unemployment and education, these youths took to violence, thus becoming social menace. The University management employed ICTs to enhance transnational collaboration as a way to provide quality education through collaboration between universities using Distance Education.
