Abstract

Comments on S. Starin's (see record 1993-14572-001) article on the common misuse of the term "nonaversive behavior management." It is argued that behavior analysts who use this term are trying to communicate effectively with lay people and to separate themselves from techniques that lay people reject as consisting of cruelty or pain.
