Abstract

Influence strategies of Member States on the recruitment process of international organizations: the case of France - This article approaches a sensitive issue that is rarely dealt with: the strategies of Member States on the recruitment process within international organizations. After evoking the official recruitment procedures, using the example of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the article attempts to present the concrete means used by Member States of international organizations to try to influence the recruitment decision-making process. The case of France is examined through the analysis of the role and everyday action of the international officials mission, one of the French Foreign Office's services which despites its strategic role receives very little attention within the ministry.
