Gold in bimetallic catalysts

Abstract

In spite of its low intrinsic catalytic activity, gold can influence the activity and selectivity of group VIII metals, such as palladium, platinum and ruthenium. Gold-containing bimetallic catalysts have found important industrial applications and represent an active research area for elucidating the correlation between surface structure and catalytic activity. © 1985 World Gold Council.
