The demographic change in the population will result in more elderly people and more elderly people with dementia symptoms that will be a part of the public dental health. The National Health Authority estimate that the number of people with dementia will increase by 50% over the next 15 years. The loss of mental functions by dementia means that an optimal communication in such patients requires individual care and time. A treatment plan can often be associated with high ethical considerations.
