Abstract

A review of 117 patients suffering from dermatitis medicamentosa seen in the Rupert Hallam Department of Dermatology in one year demonstrates the dangers of topical applications of local anaesthetics (especially cinchocaine), antihistamines, and chloramphenicol. Of the local antibiotic ointments, chlortetracycline seems to be the safest. © 1961, British Medical Journal Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
