Abstract

Single crystals of the new sulfides FeV 4 S 8 (I) and KFe 2 V 8 S 16 (II) are prepared via a melting salt method using, Fe, V, S, K 2 S in the case of (II), and KI (evacuated silica tubes, 1073 K, 3 d; cooling to 873 K at a rate of 3 K/h).
