Abstract

Due to technological progress, the increasingly expensive oil, and the search for an improvement in transportation, a process to which every element that is used in a value or supply chain is subjected, it is important to identify how the charging infrastructure is advancing. For electric vehicles, this analysis will be carried out in the Metropolitan District of Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, because it is the most populated city in the country and has serious mobility complications, where, in addition to a large number of vehicles, the cost of park maintenance automotive, fuel and pollution determine the need to use renewable forms of energy in transport, so through a bibliographic and comparative analysis it is determined that the infrastructure that the city currently has is not enough to encourage the use of vehicles In addition, there are not enough fast-charging charging stations and the existing ones are located mainly in shopping centers, being difficult to access and in case a quick charge is needed, the two charging stations willing to do so belong to Empresa Eléctrica Quito and they are located on Av. Mariana de Jesús, the headquarters of the EEQ, and on Av. Morán Valverde in the south of the city.
