Distribution extension of Abrawayaomys ruschii Cunha and Cruz, 1979 (Rodentia: Cricetidae) with the first records in the state of Paraná, southern Brazil

Abstract

Abrawayaomys ruschii is a rare sigmodontinae rodent with fewer than 10 known localities distributed in the states of Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina. Herein we report the first records for the state of Paraná in southern Brazil. These records expand the species distribution more than 450 km westwards from previous known localities.
