The sociological description of the contemporary scene of religious believing insists on a global process of individualization, which drives each subject to produce by him/herself the small narrative able to give sense to his/her personal experience. At its outermost expression, such a tendency could suggest a generalized individualistic atomization of beliefs, and thus a dislocation, or even a disappearance of any form of shared community believing. However, different social, cultural and psychological factors tend to limit this movement and contrarily reinforce community links. This article offers an interpretation of this paradox and explores the contemporary forms of the religious sharing of beliefs.
