Abstract

Electronic absorption spectra of tetravalent uranium in LiCl and CsCl were measured. Redox potentials of U4 VU3 + and U 3+/U0 couples were estimated by cyclic voltammetry. By adding SrCl2 into the melts, changes in absorption spectra and cyclic voltammograms were seen. The effect of the coexisted Sr2 + on the coordination circumstance of uranium ions was discussed.
