Abstract

Two species described by Bakhvalov from the Russian Far East are synonymized: Gibbaranea abscissa (Karsch, 1879) = Araneus amurius Bakhvalov, 1981, syn.n.; Plebs sachalinensis (S. Saito, 1934) = Araneus russicus Bakhvalov, 1981, syn.n. Two species, Neoscona scylloides Bösenberg et Strand, 1906, Menosira ornata Chikuni, 1955, and one genus, Menosira Chikuni, 1955 are reported from Russia for the first time. Occurrence of Araneus ventricosus (L. Koch, 1879), a sibling species of A. macacus Uyemura, 1961, in the Russian Far East (Maritime Province) was confirmed.
