Abstract

Given the current conditions of Latin American Economy, scientific results have shown a marked interest not only to find out variation effects on raw material but also to find out technologic-energetic-economic efficiency of processes. They have also tried to asses alternatives so as to intensify and revamp industrial plants. These plants will be supposed to match the requirements and current availabilities of raw material and energy carriers. The work proposes a strategy for revamping of facilities in process industry whit the incorporation of new energy and environmentally efficient productions like is study case of bioetanol production and co-products from bagasse of sugar cane considering the analysis of useful life of equipment as well as the integration of processes. The revamping is analyzed in furfural plant of bagasse with the incorporation of ethanol technology of lignocellullosic residual from the best results obtained. The mass and energy balances are determined in processes; the economic impact of revamping is analyzed whit the incorporation of bioetanol production and co-products from bagasse with the use of capacities and the existent facilities in the derived industry of sugar cane.
